Nationally Recognised First Aid Training

Ballistic Training Solutions provides First Aid Training in a two day workshop, theory and practical assessment format for students both in a training environment and worksite environment.

HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid 

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

 

The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

​

Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

 

Applicable occupations include:

• First Aid Officer

• WHS Coordinator

• Safety Officer

• Emergency Response Coordinator

 

Key areas covered in the course

• Responding to an emergency situation

Apply appropriate first aid procedures

Communicate details of the incident

Evaluate the incident and own performance

All materials required for the completion of the 2 Day Apply First Aid Course will be provided by Ballistic Training Solutions including links for legislation and other resources that you may require.

HLTAID013 - Provide First Aid in Remote or Isolated Site 

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in a remote or isolated site over an extended period of time until medical assistance is provided, or evacuation occurs.

​

This unit applies to any site where medical assistance is likely to be delayed.

​

First aid is to be provided in line with guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

​

Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

 

 

This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

 

 

Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Applicable occupations include:

• First Aid Officer

• WHS Coordinator

• Safety Officer

• Emergency Response Coordinator

FIRST AID CERTIFICATE REFRESHER TIMEFRAMES

A common question asked is how often a first aid certificate needs to be renewed?

The below information is designed to assist you in this area.

In accordance with the First Aid Code of Practice, the following is the general guideline:

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is valid for twelve (12) months from date of issue. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends CPR to be renewed every 12 months

  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is valid for three (3) years from date of issue

  • HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in remote areas is valid for three (3) years from date of issue
